Making a pretty bra that was comfortable too, seems a fairly complicated thing to do, but this pattern is so good I managed to achieve a well fitting bra that not only is pretty but is comfortable enough to sleep in.

I found the most amazing website to buy all the stuff I needed to make my bra at http://www.sewingchest.co.uk I decided to make style B as I have a rather large chest and thought style A wouldn’t be supportive enough. Definitely measure yourself up as the width around the chest was not the same as my usual bra fitting that I buy from the shops. I did however go up a couple of cup sizes as I couldn’t see it working without a bit more room. After making the prototype I realised I had to add even more cupage and I also decided to gather the centre slightly to round the cup and give a better fit.

The powernet is pale pink
Attaching the powernet to the lace was very tricky, but once this was done it was quick and easy to cut out the pieces using a rotary cutter. I used 505 spray which worked well although take care not to get any wrinkles or stretch the fabrics.

All the pieces ready to sew

pinned carefully
It was so quick and easy to sew this bra together once it was all prepared. I’m really proud of the elastic across the top, it was quite hard to do but looks very professional!
Top tip: I used a walking foot throughout as it helped to feed through both fabrics at the same rate so I achieved smooth seams.
My finished bra looks great and holds the boobage well:
